JOB TITLE: QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN
REPORT TO: DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT ENGINNER
LIAISE WITH: PRODUCTION, ENGINEERING & DESIGN, OPERATIONS, WAREHOUSE
SALARY: £21k + benefits after 6mnth probation (Life Assurance, Medical Insurance, Company pension, 29 days holiday, plus birthday day off after one years’ service)

THE PERSON
You will be a highly motivated results driven Quality Control Technician, with a strong background in production and engineering. Huge amounts of energy and passion for improving operational standards, productivity and increasing sales through fantastic quality controls and product standards. Your attention to detail will be outstanding and you will have the energy to proceed even when the challenge is tough, and the deadline is tight. You will happily get stuck in at work and social events and communicate with all members of staff. Have a hands-on approach to all tasks with a passion for the implementation of continuous improvement projects. Help us to provide our customers with the best service we can provide.

THE JOB SUMMARY
As the Quality Control Technician, you will take responsibility, ensuring all components and manufactured goods are in line with only the utmost level of quality and customer satisfaction. The Quality Control Technician will take an active role in being the gate keeper to all quality assurances and issues.

THE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
•Production & Operational Background
•Ideally electronics but not essential
•Managing Culture change and encouraging get on board attitude to quality control
•Proficient in IT, Microsoft Office Package ie. Excel, Word
•Strong communication skills both verbal and written
•Strong attention to detail
•Experience in a previous detail orientated role
•Experience using sensitive measuring equipment
•Controlling and liaising with suppliers on quality issues and supporting purchasing with SCAR’s (Supplier Corrective Action Reports, training provided).
•Ability to follow a process .
•Ability to read technical drawings (training available)
•Assisting with new product introduction – including assisting Engineer with Build instructions and setting up
•Logging samples and managing sample sign off for new product introduction and Engineering changes
•Assistance with PPAP completion (Pre-Production Part Approval Process, training provided)
•Using No Go Go Gauges
•Conducting inspections of incoming products/components
•Conducting inspections of finished product
•Reporting, recording and analysing results on a weekly/monthly basis
•Experience/knowledge of ISO9001
•Liaising and communicating issues with various departments daily
•Proactive identification of improvement opportunities for M&C (product, process, technology);

THE LOCATION & HOURS - Mitchell & Cooper Ltd. Based in Uckfield. Monday – Friday 08:15 – 17:00.
