Get the Zeroll Scoop on The River Café Selling Ice Cream kits Online

Situated in the heart of West London, The River Café was opened in 1987 by Rose Gray and Ruth Rogers, and the Italian restaurant has since gained critical acclaim. Ruth Rogers earnt an MBE in 2010 and was recognised once again in 2020 with a CBE for services to Culinary Arts and Charity. She is also a long-time Member of the Order of the British Empire. 

The Michelin starred River Café is also notable for the number of successful chefs that have trained in its kitchens. These include Theo Randall, Sam and Sam Clark of Moro, April Bloomfield of The Spotted Pig in New York, as well as Jamie Oliver, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Ben O'Donoghue.

When Covid hit in April 2020 and lockdown caused restaurants to close the team at The River Café decided if you can’t come to the River Café, then The River Café will come to you.

This led to the launch of the highly successful Shop The River Café, a thriving online direct-to-consumer business.

Laura Palowski is the Managing Director of Shop the River Café, overseeing all fresh food, pantry items, and homewares for the site.  When The River Café launched ice cream on its site, it made sense to also sell the Zeroll ice cream scoop that we use in our restaurant.  Mitchell & Cooper Ltd. “Our focus is on creating The River Café experience at home. Our chefs write the menu with seasonal dishes just like they do in the restaurant and then we offer a curated range of chef tools and homewares that we use in our restaurant.

One of the specialities in the Dolce section of the site is a fantastic range of ice cream. Ruthie wanted customers to experience the perfect scoop of ice cream, as they would in the River Café, Zeroll ice cream scoop—the same one we use in our restaurant.”

The Zeroll scoop is made of cast aluminium and filled with a heat transmitting liquid, where the natural warmth of the hand hand when scooping helps to soften the ice cream as it is scooped.
